Work Remotely as a Communications and Publications Consultant at the Overseas Development Institute (ODI)
Background of role
ODI’s Global Risk and Resilience Programme pioneers policy-driven research on the nexus between new and emerging risks to reduce vulnerability and realise a sustainable future for all. The programme’s work covers a broad spectrum of topics including the economics and financing of resilience; disaster risk reduction; and climate change risk and adaptation planning. The programme promotes a systemic, inclusive, and just approach to understanding emerging risks, managing uncertainty, and mainstreaming resilience across the international development community and into wider socioeconomic development agendas, policy and planning.
It does this by providing research, analysis and policy advice on the distribution of risk, impact of climate, weather extremes and other hazards on poverty and development, and the political economy of managing risk and building resilience. ODI has worked extensively across the globe, for a variety of international donor organisations and agencies including the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, UN agencies (including UNDP), UKAID/DFID.
