REPORTS TO: Global Lead – End Sexual Exploitation

LOCATION:  Remote +/- 5 hours GMT 

CONTRACT TYPE / HOURS: Full time 

REMUNERATION: Based on skills and experience in the UK £65,523 – £73,713 (metro area), £53,531 – £60,222 (non-metro area). The salary for candidates in other locations will be set using a UN Cost of Living calculator that endeavors to generate a local salary that offers the same standard of living reflected by the NYC salary.

POSITION / ROLE SUMMARY 

The Global Coordinator- Alliance for Universal Digital Rights (AUDRi)  will ensure the effective coordination of the AUDRi coalition and ensure that its campaign objectives are met, namely to achieve the campaign outcomes and gain profile and platform for the campaign.The Global Coordinator will also support in mobilizing resources for the campaign.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate the AUDRi coalition 

  • Undertake consultations with diverse stakeholders and cultivate their interest, willingness, and ability to join and participate in the AUDRi coalition; 
  • Work with AUDRi supporters and the Steering Committee to establish the priorities for the coalition to achieve the campaign objectives and its ways of working, e.g. the establishment of regional and/or thematic clusters;  
  • Work with AUDRi supporters and the Steering Committee to develop and implement advocacy strategies to achieve the campaign objectives, following the adoption of the Global Digital Compact; 
  • Organize and coordinate the meetings of AUDRi supporters and engagements among  them; 
  • Provide servant leadership to the AUDRi coalition; 
  • Identify opportunities and platforms for AUDRi supporters to collaborate, share learning, amplify their voices, and influence decision-makers in pursuit of universal digital rights. 

Support the strengthening and coordination of the AUDRi Steering Committee 

  • Oversee the process of fully establishing the Steering Committee, its workplan, and ways of working in pursuit of the campaign objectives; 
  • Support the establishment of leadership and decision making structures and protocols of the Steering Committee, e.g. any working group committees and their terms of reference;
  • Organize and coordinate the meetings of the Steering Committee.  

Lead on AUDRi’s  campaigns communications and advocacy 

  • Act as an expert adviser for the AUDRi  coalition in the development and implementation of its communications and advocacy strategies; 
  • Collaborate and work with the Communications Team within Equality Now on the development of messages and communications, assets and tools for the Coalition;
  • Be AUDRi’s spokesperson on achieving universal digital rights and secure opportunities for others within the AUDRi coalition to also be spokespersons for and on behalf of the coalition; 
  • Support AUDRi supporters to highlight and profile the work of the coalition to audiences and decision-makers at national, regional and international levels.

 Work with others in Equality Now to advance AUDRi goals

  •  Work closely with the Global Lead – End Sexual Exploitation in overall oversight of and reporting on the AUDRi campaign; 
  • Contribute to resource mobilization activities in collaboration with Equality Now’s Development Team;
  • Work closely with other Equality Now colleagues who contribute to the AUDRi campaign by providing legal and technical analysis, networking, outreach and engagement with key stakeholders such as governments, AUDRi supporters, and UN, regional and national bodies.

  • The Global Coordinator – Alliance for Universal Digital Rights will be successful if: 
  • The AUDRi coalition has diverse supporters representing different sectors such as CSOs, women’s organizations, digital rights organizations, academics, and across the different geographical regions 
  • The AUDRi coalition is vibrant and well organized, and actively engaged and contributing to its campaigns, and has strong participation and leadership from supporters in the Global Majority 
  • The AUDRi coalition and its campaigns  are visible and well regarded by external actors such as governments, and UN and regional bodies 
  • Advocacy targets,i.e. Governments and UN and regional bodies are taking on board recommendations from AUDRi in policy, legal and other measures to promote universal digital rights
  • There is good and effective communication and collaboration among Equality Now staff who are working on and supporting AUDRi 


QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Master’s Degree in law, international affairs, economics, political science, non-profit management or related field;
  • Relevant experience in coordinating and leading inter-agency initiatives;
  • Experience in coordinating global and/or diverse coalitions is highly desirable; 
  • Experience in international advocacy aimed at governments and international bodies is highly desirable; 
  • Previous campaign management experience; 
  • Minimum 2 – 3 years project and remote staff management experience;  
  • Proven record of effective project management, demonstrating the ability to ensure that projects are carried out on time, within budget, and produce products of excellent quality;
  • Proven record as a team player, demonstrating flexibility and diplomacy;
  • Good understanding of and passion for gender equality and digital rights.
