Ektimisi is a research and development MENA-based consulting firm operating in many countries in the Middle East, North Africa, and Eastern Europe Regions. Ektimisi provides a wide range of services for non-profit and civil society organizations, donors, research bodies, and academic centers. Through our field teams and local partners, we have access to and can provide Third- Party Monitoring (TPM), evaluation, research, capacity building, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment services in many locations in the Middle East (Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Occupied Territories of Palestine, and Turkey), North Africa (Libya, South Sudan, and Somalia), and Eastern Europe (Moldova and Ukraine).

Expected Role

EKTIMISI is looking for experienced economic empowerment experts who have experience in MSMES support, job creation, market assessments, entrepreneurship, business growth plans, etc. The work will be remotely with potential for traveling to field implementation sites. The candidate should have very strong writing and speaking skills in English together with analytical skills.

Key Tasks:

  • Attend meetings with potential clients
  • Develop necessary technical tools for projects monitoring and evaluation activities and provide analysis guides to guide the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data
  • Review reports to enrich them with technical interpretation and technical insights
  • Provide training for field teams on the developed technical tools
  • Draft technical reports based on the nature of the assignment
  • Ensure deadlines are met and respected.
  • Perform other duties arising from the nature of the tasks above based on development of business and work activities.
  • Being able to travel (if necessary) to provide on field training or field missions

Qualifications Required

  1. Minimum 6 years of experience in the humanitarian sector and specifically in the economic empowerment (MSME support, job creation, market assessment, entrepreneurship, etc.) sector (must)
  2. Have native or native like English language skills (must)
  3. Strong editing and writing skills (must)
  4. Relevant experience in Iraq, Syria and/ or Turkey (highly preferable)
  5. Research/assessment skills (highly preferrable)
  6. A relevant university degree (social sciences, conflict management, development studies, etc.)
  7. Demonstrate an understanding of development/ humanitarian sector
  8. Excellent skills with Word and Excel (highly preferrable)
  9. Have an ability to manage different activities and to meet deadlines

What we offer:

  1. The role is paid for deliverables based on daily rate. The daily rate will depend on the years of experience and other proven skills. The daily rate will be agreed on per assignment. Ektimisi daily rate ranges from 150 to 300 USD. Payment is made based on deliverables and based on overall estimation of working days by Ektimisi technical managing team.
  2. Ability to work remotely where field work is not required
  3. Flexible working hours
