Role purpose

The Communications & Content Officer will work across the Communications & Content team to support a wide variety of projects. The post holder will work across both functions in the team:

  • International communications – to support with the strategic communications needs of country programmes, institutional and high value donors
  • Stories and content – to support content needs for key moment appeals, emergencies and content for wider communications priorities e.g. key campaigns

The post holder will be guided by three Senior Advisors and the Manager, to undertake tasks, but with space to grow, and freedom to express ideas and develop within the role.

Key outcomes

  • Responsible for ensuring communications updates are collated and up to date, including creating photo edits/collections, posting updates on internal comms such as Viva Engage.
  • Manages and organises our image library, ensuring assets are accessible for team members; uploading, organising and captioning files.
  • Administrative support for content gathering trips, including production of documents, bookings.
  • Maintains a roster of freelancers, and supports the team with procurement processes.
  • Leads on small communications projects/aspects of larger communications projects with a commitment to decolonised and ethical storytelling.
  • Supports Comms & Content Team, and Head of Communications, with the implementation of communications and visibility plans for programmes and projects
