The Opportunity
This is an exciting time at NetHope as the organization builds on strong relationships within the INGO, private sector, and philanthropic community. NetHope also seeks to amplify its innovative program and services while highlighting its collaboration with Members and partners. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Communications Coordinator will play an important role and work in the External Relations Team as well as the rest of the organization, a dynamic and passionate group of colleagues, in the achievement of our mission.
Communications Coordinator
NetHope is seeking an experienced, organized, and enthusiastic professional to develop and coordinate compelling communications that tells the organization’s story and engages its target audiences. The Communications Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Communications, and across the organization, to generate content and create multi-channel communication campaigns in support of our Member, partner and funder outreach as well as to build an external audience of champions. Your priority will be to excite an external audience by using your creative expertise to elevate impact stories, spotlight collective action, and amplify NetHope’s mission. Specific responsibilities include:
Storytelling and Content Creation:
- With the support of the Director of Communications, execute content strategy within each assigned portfolio, writing and curating content for various platforms, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives across mediums that elevate impact stories, spotlight collective action, and amplify NetHope to build an external audience of champions.
- Responsible for NetHope’s effective use of MemoryFox for raising the voices and stories of the NetHope Community and ensures content is organized, maintained, and campaigns launched effectively.
Social Media Management
- Create and schedule engaging social media content that align with goals and priorities utilizing Asana, Metricool, and other related platforms. Collaborate with Digital Communications Manager for creation of related images or video content.
- Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, mentions, and respond accordingly delivering excellent customer service and aligned with brand standards.
NetHope Global Summit
- Support all marketing and communications efforts for the NetHope Global Summit with the Director of Communications and the Digital Communications Manager, such as writing and publishing social media posts, emails, collecting testimonials/stories, and other promotional materials as assigned.
- Provides surge capacity for graphic design, short-form video, infographics, and website updates as assigned.
Communications Operations
- Responsible for administration of the Editorial Calendar and Communications Requests process in collaboration with the Director of Communications. Regularly update Asana with communication requests from various departments, ensuring the editorial calendar reflects current deadlines, workflows, and briefs. Proactively reduces barriers, communicates and collaborates abundantly, implements solutions, and delivers trainings to make the process efficient and effective, and supports a proactive strategic communications planning approach.
- Coordinates asset management lists, requirements, production timelines, and produces regular progress updates to internal stakeholders, and supports communication consultants work in support of the Director of Communications.
- Schedule and execute communication tasks effectively utilizing tools such as Metricool, Campaign Monitor, and WordPress.
- Maintains the Marketing and Communications folders on Box are well-organized and up-to-date e.g. keeping the latest files on the drive, implementing version control for files, ensuring files are correctly placed within the folder structure, conducting regular clean-ups, and other related activities.
- Responsible for managing various general inboxes and ensuring excellent customer service in response to external stakeholders.
- Maintains and updates internal resources, tools, and messaging for staff inclusive of brand guidelines, master PowerPoint templates, facts and figures, and related assets.
- Maintains media distribution lists and related CRM accounts as assigned to ensure data is up-to-date and accurate.
- Utilize technology and tools used to implement communications strategy effectively.
- Creates and disseminates reports, agendas, and tracks and implements action-items as assigned.
- Supports a unified brand and voice across all including appropriate use of logo, consistent look and feel, and messaging
- Maintain high standards of writing, editing, style, format, design, and production for all materials.
- Stays up to date about industry trends and developments in nonprofit communications through research and by attending conferences, webinars, workshops to ensure NetHope remains at the forefront of communication practices.

- HTML or other web programming and proficiency in programs/systems related to web design strongly preferred
Education and Experience
- 1+ years of experience in similar positions in communications, marketing, public relations or a similar discipline. Experience in global nonprofit organizations a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred or equivalent work experience.
- NetHope Member experience highly valued, other NGO experience a plus.
- Ability to use project management and productivity applications such as Asana, Salesforce, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Miro, Slack, Zoom, Metricool, MemoryFox, Google Analytics, Cvent, Campaign Monitor, and equivalent programs.
- Ability to use web, graphic design, and creative applications such as Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, HTML, and equivalent programs.
Reporting and Working Conditions
- This position is a full-time position in the External Relations Team that reports to the Director of Communications and works with colleagues across the organization.
- NetHope is a virtual organization, so our team, our Members, and our Partners are located around the world. Due to the global nature of the organization, meetings may thus be required at any time of the day to meet with our stakeholders in varying time zones. To meet these needs, NetHope embraces flexible schedules for team members, and we work with each other to be located globally, but still maintain a reasonable work time balance.

- International or domestic travel may be required for 1-2 NetHope events annually.
