Applications close on 31st May 2024

Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKI) offers internships to undergraduates and young professionals with a keen interest in international relations and foreign policy related research. Interns support the different functions of the institute and will receive a unique opportunity to participate in research, communications and administrative teams to produce high-quality research and organise diplomatic and academic events.

This will provide an opportunity to build a publication record in research, gain experience in international affairs, and learn from experienced professionals in the diplomatic and foreign policy field.

Candidates must be a current undergraduate or recent graduate of a relevant Bachelor’s Degree (e.g. International Relations, Economics, Law, Strategic Studies or other relevant discipline). Interns should also have a keen interest in current affairs in Sri Lanka and abroad, and a desire to contribute to high-quality research and work closely with a diverse research team.

Internships are initially 3 months in length, with the possibility to extend for an additional 3 months subject to a performance review. Applicants should also indicate their internship availability in their motivation letter.
