Harm Reduction International (HRI) is seeking to recruit a part-time Communications Assistant. Reporting to the Communications Strategist, this role will provide support across HRI’s communications activities.

The Communications Assistant role will be part-time (2 days per week) for 5 months (3 June 2024 to 30 October 2024)

Harm Reduction International envisions a world in which drug policies uphold dignity, health and rights. We use data and advocacy to promote harm reduction and drug policy reform. We show how rights-based, evidence-informed responses to drugs contribute to healthier, safer societies, and why investing in harm reduction makes sense.

Key Duties

The Communications Assistant will support the Communications Strategist with a variety of tasks including:

  • Content creation
  • Content calendaring and scheduling
  • Website management
  • Social media management
  • Media monitoring
  • Website and social media analytics

Essential Skills

  • Familiarity with all major social media platforms
  • Experience using Figma and/or Adobe Illustrator
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Interest in human rights and social justice

Desirable Skills

  • Experience creating digital content for advocacy
  • Knowledge of WordPress
  • Familiarity with Notion
  • Video creation and editing skill

Remuneration

24,000 GBP per annum (at pro rata two days a week)

Location

Remote (with ability to work a minimum 4 hours between 10AM and 4PM UK)
