The University of Ottawa Refugee Hub, in collaboration with Pathways International, is launching the uOttawa Refugee Hub Fellowship for Refugee Leaders. This fellowship program aims to empower individuals with lived experiences of forced displacement, offering them a unique opportunity to accelerate their professional growth while contributing to solutions for displaced people globally.
Program Overview:
 The fellowship will offer two positions, each lasting 12 months. One position will be based in Canada with regular travel to Ottawa, while the other will be remote. Fellows will commit 20 hours per month to the program and will receive dedicated mentorship, tailored development plans, a stipend of $20,000, and $5,000 in professional development funds.
About Pathways International:
 Pathways International is committed to expanding pathways to protection for refugees and migrants worldwide. Through projects like the Global Refugee Sponsorship Initiative and partnerships like the Resettlement Diplomacy Network, they aim to reform the global system of safe and legal routes for displaced people.
About the Role:
 Fellows will join one of two streams: the Global Pathways Stream or the Strategic Leadership Stream. In either stream, fellows will actively contribute to projects, develop leadership skills, and engage in mentorship activities. They will also collaborate on creating a scalable model of mentorship for refugee leaders.
Key Responsibilities and Opportunities:
 Fellows will work with mentors to create individualized development plans, contribute to projects, and engage in learning opportunities such as workshops and courses at the University of Ottawa. Post-fellowship, participants will join a network of alumni, continuing to contribute to Pathways International’s mission.

Eligibility and How to Apply:
 Applicants must have lived experience of forced displacement, demonstrated leadership potential, and proficiency in English. They should submit a CV, cover letter, and statements addressing specific points outlined in the application guidelines. The deadline for applications is April 24, 2024.
Timelines: Applications close on April 24, 2024, with selections announced on May 22, 2024. Onboarding for successful applicants will begin on June 3, 2024.
