We are the sub-Saharan Africa office of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF Africa), a German foundation that works across the globe to promote freedom.

Reports to: Regional Director sub-Saharan Africa

FNF Africa is looking for an enthusiastic freedom-lover who wants to join our team in Johannesburg to work full-time as Regional Programme Assistant on issues such as liberal democracy, human rights, economic freedom and innovation in Africa. The Regional Project Assistant reports directly to the Regional Director sub-Saharan Africa.

Her/his/their key responsibilities include the support of the Regional Director and the regional team in the fields of administration, programme implementation and capacity development:

  • manage the administration and assist with coordination of FNF´s activities in the sub-Saharan Africa region including the maintenance of the database, procurement, preparation of budgets and collate data reporting to the Foundations headquarters in Germany
  • to assist with the facilitation of workshops, seminars, conferences and training programmes in the South African offices and the sub- Saharan Africa region
  • to assist in communicating with liberal partner organisation, international stakeholders and international networks including political parties and think tanks in the sub-Saharan Africa region
  • to assist in  developing  and delivering learning solutions and capacity development, activity plans and training workshops

Required are independent thinking, personal initiative, a responsible attitude and excellent language and writing skills in English and excellent organisational and time management skills. German language skills will be of advantage. You need to have sound experience in word processing and social media. If you are not a resident of South Africa you need a valid work visa.
