Fellowship Details:
- Duration and Start Date:Â The fellowship is for a two-year term with an immediate start date.
- Research Focus:Â Scholars are expected to center their research on questions related to artificial intelligence, grounding their work in the humanities.
- Responsibilities:Â Fellows will engage in individual and collaborative research, mentorship at the honors level, limited teaching, public engagement activities, and participation in intellectual events organized by HUMA.
- Value:Â Each fellowship is valued at R300,000 per annum, inclusive of tuition and relocation costs. Additional funding for research visits and conference participation (up to R30,000 annually) is available.
- Eligibility:Â Applicants must hold a PhD degree obtained within the past five years, demonstrate a commitment to scholarly excellence, and possess strong communication skills.
- Residency:Â Fellows are required to reside in Cape Town for the duration of the fellowship.
