We’re looking for an experienced researcher who will effectively lead large-scale quantitative studies in collaboration with our project partners in the Asia and Pacific regions.
The Quantitative Research Lead will play a pivotal role in building the evidence around the prevalence and nature of violence against women and girls, and what works to end this type of violence. This role demands a robust background in quantitative research methods and statistics, strong knowledge and expertise in ending VAWG, experience working in the Global South, a talent for conveying complex information accessibly, and the ability to work under minimal supervision within a collaborative team.
The Quantitative Research Lead will:
- Work closely with clients and project partners to develop and implement ethical, safe, and rigorous large-scale quantitative studies on VAWG in the Asia and Pacific regions
- Design quantitative studies, including developing research protocols
- Develop and test prevalence study tools. This includes ensuring that research tools are culturally- and contextually- appropriate, comprehensive, and capable of capturing the necessary data to inform the research objectives
- Provide technical guidance to project partners on appropriate quantitative sampling strategies, power calculations, and interpreting survey data findings
- Obtain research ethics approval from relevant institutional review boards and help ensure research activities comply with ethical standards and prioritise the safety of participants, researchers, and communities
- Develop enumerator training, with a focus on ethical and rigorous data collection techniques, and travel to research sites to deliver this training
- Monitor survey data during data collection and coordinate with research partners to troubleshoot any issues identified
- Conduct data cleaning and detailed quantitative data analysis using statistical software
- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing research findings, insights, and recommendations
- Work within a team to conduct systematic reviews
