Position Overview:
ELS is seeking Health Policy Analysts to join the Health Division, contributing to projects aimed at enhancing the performance of health systems. Successful candidates will work alongside a dynamic team of health economists, policy experts, and statisticians, addressing diverse challenges in health policy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and Analysis:Â Conduct economic and policy analysis in areas such as health systems performance, cancer care, public health, human resources for health, and healthcare financing. Draft reports, policy briefs, and other deliverables based on research findings.
- Co-ordination and Liaison:Â Participate in multidisciplinary projects and engage with stakeholders including government officials, private sector representatives, civil society organizations, and academia. Contribute to meetings, workshops, and conferences to share insights and collaborate on health policy initiatives.
- Project Management:Â Manage projects ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outputs. Support fundraising efforts by assisting in drafting project proposals and fostering relationships with potential donors.
- Supervision and Mentorship:Â Provide guidance to interns, consultants, and junior staff members. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment within the team.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in economics, health policy, medicine, pharmacy, or related field.
- Minimum three to five years of experience in applied research and analysis in health policy.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Experience in project management and supervising junior staff.
- Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with statistical and data analysis software is advantageous.
- Fluency in English or French; knowledge of both languages is preferred.
Application Details:

Selection Process:
Candidates will undergo written tests or video-recorded interviews in May, followed by panel interviews in June 2024.
