We are now looking for a Sustainability Lead to join us on a permanent, part-time basis, working 17.5 hours per week.

The Role
As our Sustainability Lead, you will support functions across our organisation to help deliver our sustainability commitments .
Specifically, you will support improved environmental, social and governance actions, whilst setting annual sustainability targets and reporting on these to ensure we deliver on our commitments.
You will help finalise our Sustainability Strategy and reporting framework to ensure improvements are delivered.
You will work with teams responsible for aspects of sustainability including finance, travel, facilities, people and governance, and you will develop an internal stakeholder engagement plan to raise awareness and drive changes in staff behaviour.
Your role will also involve:
– Engaging partners to improve understanding of their sustainability priorities
– Identifying opportunities for collaboration
– Sharing our experiences of developing and implementing a sustainability strategy
– Producing the annual public sustainability impact report
– Overseeing the annual ISO 140001 assessment
– Finalising updates to the carbon offsetting policy
– Supporting the finance-led banking transition plan
About You
To be considered as our Sustainability Lead, you will need:
– Sustainability expertise, particularly on environmental and ethical aspects of sustainability
– An awareness of key issues and debates in sustainability
– An awareness of the key issues, actors and debates involved in the global sustainable development agenda
– Knowledge of the challenges facing organisations operationalising sustainability commitments
– An understanding of change management practices to support organisational shifts to more sustainable ways of working
– An understanding of emerging legal frameworks on sustainability and net zero reporting
– A qualification in environment, business sustainability or related fields
IIED is a hybrid working organisation and, if/when working from home, you will need a reliable internet connection .
