The main target group for the International Junior Professionals Programme are persons who are at an early stage of their career.The junior consultancies in the International Junior Professionals Programme replace ILGA World’s internship opportunities that we offered in the past.
As an international programme, any person may apply except those living in Switzerland.

Outline, responsibilities, and conditions of the Junior Consultancy position
This is an exciting opportunity to join ILGA World, the global LGBTI membership-based organisation with more than 1,900 member organisations in over 160 countries.
The Junior Professional Consultant will provide assistance to ILGA World’s communications team in the production of audio-visual content, and will report to Daniele Paletta (Communications Manager) – working in close cooperation with Suelle Anglin (Communications Consultant).
The International Junior Professionals Programme of ILGA World is a great opportunity for somebody who has an interest in human rights and LGBTI issues and wants to gain experience in working for an international human rights organisation that represents LGBTI organisations, communities, and movements on a global stage. They are aimed at LGBTI human rights activists and communications professionals who are at an early stage of their careers.

Junior Consultancy conditions
- The Junior Consultancy is virtual; no relocation to Geneva is expected or supported by ILGA World
- The Junior Consultancy is eight months long and requires a full-time commitment throughout its duration (37.5 hours/week). Working hours arrangements are flexible
- The Junior Professional Consultant will be expected to work from their current location, and (subject to funding) participate in the 2024 ILGA World Conference (Cape Town, South Africa, November 2024) to support ILGA World’s communications team
- The Junior Professional Consultant will receive a compensation of CHF 1,000 per month for the duration of the consultancy
- The successful Junior Professional Consultant will have opportunities to work with representatives of LGBTI organisations from around the world and other NGOs virtually and/or in Geneva
- Due recognition in publications and activities to which the Junior Professional Consultants have contributed will be given.

IMPORTANT: Your video should be 2-3 minutes long (longer videos will not be considered). Your audio and video should be clear, so we can understand what you’re saying. Your video should be in English. If applicable, you can include small parts of the video in Spanish to show your fluency in that language

Process after application

We expect to communicate our decision to shortlist candidates by Monday, 18 March 2024, Please bear in mind that, if you have not been contacted after this date, this means that you have not been shortlisted for the position.
Shortlisted candidates will be admitted to an interview after completing a short written assignment. They will receive the assignment on 25 March 2024 and will have until 2 April 2024 to deliver it. Those who will not deliver the assignment by the deadline will not be admitted to the interview. Interviews are expected to take place between 3 and 5 April 2024 and will last approximately 30 minutes. The selected candidate will be notified around 15 April 2024.
