Applications are currently open for funded participation at GYEA 2024. The Global Youth Environment Assembly serves as a vital platform, bringing together young environmental enthusiasts and policy advocates worldwide for policy discussions and the formulation of the Global Youth Declaration on Environment.
GYEA Participation Overview
The 2024 edition, scheduled in Nairobi, Kenya, aligns with the theme of UNEA6, focusing on effective, inclusive, and sustainable multilateral actions addressing climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. Young individuals under 35 with expertise in environmental governance and policy advocacy are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will actively participate in various meetings, demonstrate a basic understanding of international environmental governance processes, and commit to youth coordination activities.
Previous engagement in CYMG and/or UNEA processes is prioritized, and enthusiasm to extend efforts beyond standard working hours is valued. International funded positions include support for roundtrip flights, accommodation, and a small per diem, with regional and gender balance considerations. Additionally, Kenya-based candidates may receive stipends for local expenses during GYEA, OECPR-6, and UNEA-6
