Allan Grey StartUp Academy Incubation Program Overview
Program participants will receive business training and support to start their businesses. The programme will be full-time and in-person, starting on 15th April 2024. The StartUp Academy is funded by Allan Gray Makers. This means that all programme costs are covered, including a basic Transport allowance and all you’re expected to contribute is your commitment, your time, and your energy!
Programme content includes:
1. Training in Entrepreneurial Mindset, New Venture Creation, Marketing and Sales, Business Management, Financial Management, Branding, E-skills for business and Personal Mastery.
2. Opportunities to work in teams and network with other businesses.
3. Access to Personal Mentorship, Business Shadowing, Industry-Expert Coaches and Business Advisory.
4. Access to markets with a focus on making your first sale.
5. Access to Office Space.
6. Support to start your business and to write your Trade test
7. Graduates have access to life-long support.
8. Venue Location: Gauteng (Johannesburg), Mpumalanga (Gert Sibanda/Ermelo) Kwa-Zulu Natal (Ethekwini district/Durban) and Eastern Cape (Nelson Mandela Bay district/Gqeberha).
Minimum requirements
You can apply if you are:
- Age: 18-34 Must be a South African citizen or hold a permanent residence status.
- Must have completed a relevant learning programme in the Plumbing or Electrical Trades with N6 and 18 months apprenticeship.
- Must qualify to take a trade test (having a trade test certificate is advantageous)
- Location: Gauteng (Johannesburg City, Ekurhuleni City, Mogale City and Ruimsig), Mpumalanga (Gert Sibanda Municipality) Kwa-Zulu Natal (Ethekwini District) and Eastern Cape (Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan) Industry: Plumbing & Electrical.
- Intentions: Desire to start their own business.
