Join the Fully Funded UNICEF Youth Advisory Group: Call for Expressions of Interest!

Introduction: UNICEF is inviting passionate young individuals to join its Youth Advisory Group (YAG) for the evaluation of the Gender Policy and Gender Action Plans implementation. This presents a unique opportunity for enthusiastic minds to actively contribute to shaping UNICEF’s mission in challenging gender inequalities.

Role of the Youth Advisory Group: As a member of the YAG, participants will:

  • Engage in the evaluation process, offering valuable insights.
  • Sense-check key evaluation questions for resonance with the youth demographic.
  • Influence the design to make it more inclusive and youth-friendly.
  • Validate emerging findings and recommendations.
  • Support the dissemination of results in an adolescent-friendly manner.

Eligibility Criteria: UNICEF is looking for individuals aged 18 to 25 who:

  • Have a keen interest in UNICEF’s gender work, including programming or advocacy.
  • Are comfortable communicating in English, French, or Spanish.
  • Possess a passion for research and a desire to contribute to meaningful evaluations.
  • Commit to active participation throughout the evaluation process.

Time Commitment: Youth involvement is expected to take approximately five working days between January and September 2024. Participation is voluntary, with compensation in the form of reimbursement for internet data, travel, and refreshments. UNICEF will provide certification and training in policy and program evaluation.

Application Process: Interested individuals should submit expressions of interest by January 4, 2024. This should include a brief statement (not exceeding 500 words) outlining motivation, relevant experience, interest in gender issues, and the vision for youth involvement in the evaluation process.

Selection Process: A selection committee will review applications, and shortlisted candidates may be invited for a virtual interview. Final selection will be based on aligning candidates’ interests and experiences with the YAG’s goals.
