Eligibility

For PhD Students:

  • One to two years away from completing a PhD in macroeconomics or a related field
  • Below the age of 32 at the start of the internship
  • Excellent command of English, written and oral
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and computer skills

For Master’s Students:

  • Completing a Master’s degree in macroeconomics or a related field
  • Below the age of 28 at the commencement of the internship
  • Excellent command of English, written and oral
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and computer skills

How to Apply

Applications typically open in early December and the deadline is 7th January. Visit the IMF Career Site for details and to apply. Your application should include a completed form, responses to all questions, a personal CV/resume, and a recent transcript.

Is it a Paid Internship? Yes, FIP participants receive a competitive salary, round-trip restricted economy class air travel, and limited medical insurance coverage.
