Are you holding Master’s degree and looking for fully funded PhD positions? Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Sweden invites online application for multiple funded PhD Programs / fully funded PhD positions in various research areas.
Candidates interested in the fully funded PhD positions can check the details and may apply as soon as possible. Interested and eligible applicants may submit their online application for PhD programs via the University’s Online Application Portal.
1. Fully Funded PhD Position in Biology, specialisation in Ecology
Summary of PhD Program:
Climate change and anthropogenic disturbance cause major losses in biodiversity and threaten important ecosystem services. Marine protected areas (MPAs) have become a key component of conservation and fisheries management to alleviate these pressures and are a crucial component of new, ambitious targets for MPA coverage. However, sophisticated conservation planning techniques are required to ensure that MPA networks are ecologically coherent in a changing climate.
Application Deadline: 2023-12-11
2. Fully Funded PhD Position in Governing and Financing
Summary of PhD Program:
In the ARCADIA (TrAnsformative climate ResilienCe by nAture-baseD solutions in the contInentAl bio-geographical region) project, we aim to galvanise transformative adaptation using nature-based solutions across 8 European regions (including Region Skåne) and provide support in designing consistent regional blue-green infrastructure networks. The PhD student will participate in the ARCADIA project as well as provide inputs to several other projects and activities at the department. The focus of work in the ARCADIA project is in three main areas.
Application Deadline: 2024-01-10
3. Fully Funded PhD Position in Nature-Based Interventions for wellbeing and human health
Summary of PhD Program:
This PhD project addresses the connection between nature-based interventions (NBI), and human health and well-being. We currently experience an increase in mental disorders, primarily in urban areas. At the same time, there is a growing evidence of that nature experiences reduce stress and increase well-being. The project aims at investigating and mapping different types of nature types in urban, semi-urban and rural settings, connected to health supporting experiences and interventions. Further, it aims to develop a more nuanced know-how of practices best used to promote an increased well-being for the general population and the promotion and prescribing of NBI in clinical health care.
Application Deadline: 2023-12-17
4. Fully Funded PhD Position in Effects of wetland restoration on methylmercury in water
Summary of PhD Program:
Sweden has extensively drained forest wetlands over the last 150 years to improve forest productivity. There is strong societal interest to restoring drained wetlands with the aim to increase biodiversity, sequester carbon and retain water in the forest landscape. However, the scientific knowledge behind wetland restoration efforts is limited. A potential risk of wetland restoration is an increased formation and mobilization of bioavailable methylmercury.
