Key Information:
Duration: February 12th to June 2nd, 2024 (10-16 weeks)
Eligibility: Open to university students with an organized internship period as part of their studies.
Objective: To provide an interdisciplinary learning experience while contributing to cutting-edge research in a reputable institution.
Objective of the Internship:
At NAI, research interns engage in an interdisciplinary environment aimed at fostering knowledge and practical skills. This internship offers an invaluable chance to not only deepen understanding in this field but also actively participate in the research institution’s activities. Under the mentorship of the project leader, interns will primarily focus on the following key duties while engaging in wider institutional endeavors.

Key Duties:
Data Analysis: Support the analysis of a dataset on social equity and climate adaptation from the CGIAR Research Climate Resilience project, with a specific focus on participatory social research data from Kenya and the Philippines.
Qualitative Data Coding: Contribute to coding qualitative datasets using NVIVO 14 software (training provided).
Information Pack Production: Create informative packs on core themes, such as climate adaptation, extracted from the dataset.
Qualifications and Required Skills:
MSc Candidacy or Qualification: Background in disciplines like anthropology, history, politics, human geography, global development studies, or related social sciences.
Interest in Gender Issues: Relevance and understanding of gender issues, inequality, and their connections to rural contexts and agricultural populations.
Knowledge of Sustainability and Climate Adaptation: Demonstrated familiarity with scholarly and policy perspectives on sustainability and climate adaptation is advantageous.
Methodological Skills: Training in qualitative data collection and analysis.
Organizational and Analytical Skills: Strong capability in organization and analysis.
Excellent Writing Skills: Proficiency in written communication.
Language Proficiency: A good command of spoken and written English.
Independence: Ability to work independently under the supervision of an NAI researcher.
