Mphil-PhD Positions in Global Studies at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen – School of Humanities and Social Science 2024
The MPhil-PhD programme in Global Studies is started by the School of Humanities and Social Science at CUHK-Shenzhen in 2021. With its solid and enriching research resources, the programme is seeking for innovative and forward-thinking social science talents globally with a range of research focuses, including international relations, international security, international political economy, global governance, international organization, comparative politics, Chinese political economy and other related areas.
The PhD applicants should have:
- A master’s degree in international relations, political science, public administration, economics, sociology or other social science-related subjects;
- Strong interest in global affairs and in pursuing careers in the relevant domains of global studies in the future;
- Ability and desire to work in an international team on interdisciplinary research topics;
- Good command of English, which is the working language of the department.
Our Offer:
The programme aims to equip students with interdisciplinary and independent analysis skills, capability of critical thinking and creativity, global and innovative mindset, which enable students to be professionals at top research universities or leading industries.
The required study duration for PhD is 4-5 years; the longest study duration is 6-7 years.
The tuition fee for the MPhil-PhD programme is RMB 115,000 per year. The MPhil-PhD programme of CUHKSZ will offer scholarships and teaching and research allowances to outstanding applicants.
