About the NordArt 2024

NordArt, organized by the non-profit cultural initiative Kunstwerk Carlshütte, is a prestigious and transformative international contemporary art exhibition held annually, creating a dynamic platform for both established and emerging artists from around the globe. This grand artistic endeavor, taking place between June and October, stands as one of Europe’s largest and most influential showcases of modern creativity. Each year, NordArt is reimagined, offering a fresh and stimulating perspective on the world of art.

Set against the backdrop of the historic foundry halls of Carlshütte, boasting 22,000 square meters of exhibition space, as well as the charming ACO Wagenremise building and a sprawling 80,000 square meters of sculpture park, NordArt provides a distinctive and immersive experience for artists and art enthusiasts alike.

The exhibition is a testament to the power of artistic dialogue, as it brings together more than 200 selected artists, transcending boundaries and inviting viewers on a profound journey of discovery.

NordArt’s uniqueness lies in its ability to foster cross-cultural understanding, emphasizing the shared thoughts and ideas between East and West, South and North, while simultaneously celebrating the diversity of individual perspectives. To promote a deeper appreciation of global artistry, NordArt annually dedicates an individual pavilion to a specific country and collaborates with embassies, cultural institutions, and curators from various nations on special projects. Guided by the visionary Wolfgang Gramm as the principal curator and Inga Aru as the senior curator, NordArt continues to be a beacon of creative expression, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking a profound artistic experience.
