UNU International Institute for Global Health (UNU-IIGH), based in Kuala Lumpur, serves as a policy hub on global health. We apply a gender perspective to guide health program development and promote the capacity development of local stakeholders in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Responsibilities
As a Communications Intern, you will:
- Content Management and Creation:
- Assist in gathering inputs for UNU IIGH’s newsletter.
- Design social media content for events, publications, and knowledge products.
- Manage and update online platforms with new content.
- Support social media content scheduling and posting.
- Monitor news and social media for engagement opportunities.
- Event Support:
- Contribute to managing in-person and virtual events.
- Assist with post-event data collection and analysis.
- Media Relations:
- Distribute press releases and keep contact lists updated.
- Other Tasks:
- Assist with other duties as required.

Qualifications
- Education: Studies in Media, Journalism, International Relations, or related fields.
- Language: Excellent English skills; knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
- Experience: Graphic design, content creation, digital communications, social media, and proficiency in MS Office tools. Familiarity with website management systems and video/photo editing is a plus.
Stipend
The selected intern will receive a MYR 1,000.00 monthly stipend based on attendance.
