Work online as a United Nations Volunteer! Online Social Media Campaign on Digital Literacy & Clean Water

Overview

Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) is the education goal These goals are indivisible and encompass economic, social and environmental dimensions. SDG4 focuses on education and aims to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.” Illiteracy in Africa and in particular Zimbabwe is caused by poverty, early child marriage, gender inequality and traditional and religious practices. COVID 19 also contributed to increased rates of illiteracy hence the need to accelerate access to education and lifelong opportunities for young people especially girls and young women at risk and survivors of child marriage. Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6) is the goal involving clean water and sanitation

. These goals ensure access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene for all. The demand for clean water has significantly increased in recent years due to climate change catastrophes and pollution. This need has also outpaced population growth as water scarcity is a phenomenon afflicting half the global population one calendar month of the year.
