Scholarships for international students at Macquarie

Macquarie University $5,000 Regional Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to all eligible students who commence their studies in 2023 and 2024.

Award value: AUD $5,000 per year

Duration: Standard course duration

Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to reward academic excellence and attract high performing students to study at Macquarie University

Award value: Up to AUD $10,000

Duration: One-off award

Macquarie University Alumni Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to all eligible Macquarie University alumni international students for postgraduate studies.

Award value: 10% of total tuition fees

Duration: Standard course duration

Study Abroad Scholarship

Providing international students the opportunity to experience Australian culture through a Study Abroad experience.

Award value: Up to AUD $1,000

Duration: One-off award

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Macquarie University International Scholarships, applicants are expected to;

  • Meet the Academic and English requirements for a Macquarie University Bachelor or Postgraduate Coursework Degree.
  • Achieve a minimum WAM equivalent of 65 for Postgraduate applications; or a minimum ATAR equivalent of 85 for Undergraduate applications.
  • Be accepted into a Macquarie University Bachelor or Postgraduate Coursework Degree commencing in the next year
  • English Language Requirement: Applicants are required to provide evidence of meeting the Macquarie University’s minimum English language proficiency requirements.

Application Process

 Depending on the scholarship, some do not require a separate scholarship application. Applicants will be automatically assessed for the scholarship and eligible students will be made an offer as part of their course offer.

Other scholarships will require an application to be submitted which generally will be assessed by a scholarship selection committee against the scholarship criteria.

Interested and eligible candidates can complete an online course application form. Once your course application has been processed, you will receive a Macquarie University Student Number which is compulsory to submit the online scholarship application form.
