Apply for these UNIL Master’s Grants in Switzerland for Foreign Students
Masters Scholarships are prestigious awards exclusively for graduates of foreign universities with outstanding academic records. UNIL offers about ten scholarships annually. The scholarship, applicable for the minimum duration of the chosen program, provides CHF 1,600 per month from September 15 to July 15 (10 months per year) throughout the master’s program, except in cases of definitive failure after the first year.
Benefits:
Recipients of the scholarship are exempt from fixed course registration fees, except for the CHF 80.00 fees per semester.
Eligibility:
Prospective students must hold a foreign university degree equivalent to a UNIL bachelor’s degree before starting the master’s program. Exceptional academic achievements are necessary. Language proficiency of at least C1 in either French or English is required based on the chosen master’s language. Past enrollment at UNIL disqualifies applicants. A CHF 200.00 administration fee must be paid.

It is however not possible to apply for the following master programmes:
- Master from the School of Medicine
- Master in Sciences and Practices of Education
- Master of Law. Exceptions: Open to applications for Masters Scholarships : Specialisms “International and Comparative Law”, “Legal Theory” and “International Tax Law and Policy”
- Master of Science in Physical Education and Sport Didactics
- Master of Science in Health Sciences
- Master of Science in Sustainable Management & Technology
- All MASs (3rd cycle programmes, Further Education programmes)
Additional requirements:
For the Master in psychology, students holding a foreign Bachelor in psychology must have obtained a place of study for a master in psychology at a university in the country where the bachelor was awarded.
