1- Research Fellow in Mesoscale Materials Modelling for Solid-state Batteries


To conduct mesoscale simulations of Li/Na dendrite growth in solid-state batteries and to create machine learning tools to support multiscale modeling for zero-excess solid-state batteries, we are seeking a highly motivated researcher with extensive research experience in mesoscale materials modeling. To solve scientific issues, the candidate should have experience in coding and developing mesoscale computer models (such as CFD, finite element, lattice Boltzmann, and phase-field theory). In addition to working with other Research Fellows and Ph.D. students in Prof. Qiong Cai’s group on mesoscale materials modeling for electrochemical energy devices, the selected candidate will engage with two Research Fellows who specialize in atomistic modeling.

2-Research Fellow in Kirigami Mechanics

The chosen candidate will play a key role in characterizing structures made of kirigami under dynamic pressures and researching how plasticity affects kirigami behavior. Additionally, they will use this information to create an energy-dissipating system or gadget as a proof of concept. By the experience of the chosen candidate and as applicable, the position will involve experimental, numerical, and theoretical analyses. By co-authoring papers for submission to scholarly publications and giving presentations at international conferences, the applicant will aid in dissemination.
